About me

I am a Coach/Counsellor/Supervisor/Trainer and work at psychological depth with people who often want to change some aspect of their lives.  This could be to grow in confidence, or to stop certain patterns of behaviour like recurring conflict with colleagues, friends, or family.  As a supervisor of coaches and counsellors I work to develop knowledge, skill-sets and ensure ethical practice in both challenging and supporting these professionals.

My background and experience

As a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), I maintain my professional HR practice and I currently also work as an Assessor for the CIPD.

I have worked as a counsellor and coach both independently, and for Mind (mental health charity), for over seven years on wide-ranging issues like loss, lack of self-esteem and managing workplace stress.  In my practice, I work from senior leaders to those with no jobs, as I find that there is a core in everyone that responds to being skilfully listened to and questioned within a strong working alliance.

My work has evolved in recent years and an area of interest to me is how to integrate nature into my work.   I am particularly interested in how being in nature helps with mental well-being and creates a "cognitive quiet".  An article I wrote about ‘Developing a Coaching Nature’ was published by both the Association for Coaching and British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy and can be found on pages 18-20   Link to article

I live and work on the Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire borders and travel regularly to London.  I also work 1:1 on line (via Skype, Zoom or other virtual secure meeting tools) and over the telephone.
